1999 Season
What a great season 1999 was, probably one of the best hunting seasons for
deer we ever experienced. It all started with Jason harvesting a big 32"
buck in a general area on public land and our brother-in-law John Mullen
(lower left) harvesting a nice 25" buck in the same area.
Opening season of a limited quota area Joey harvested his biggest buck with
a 28" 9x7, with it continuing with Dian harvesting a nice 23" 4pt and Joe
harvesting a nice 29" 5pt.
(All Faigl pics shown on the Faiglrock page)
In 1999 we were happy to have been present to help our good friend Dave
Pivik (left) to harvest his biggest buck on the last day of the season. His
buck was a 6x5 with a 32" spread.
Since 1999 we have yet to see or harvest the bucks that were witnessed that
year, due to overhunting, increase in licenses, and drought conditions.

Magazine

2000 Season
In 2000, we added a few more memorable hunts with friends. Steve Spong and
Jason hunted hard before Steve finally harvested his first mule deer with a
29" spread in a general area (left). That same weekend Dave Pivik and Joe
found this awesome buck in the same area as Steve's buck, Dave's buck was a
25" 180 class buck.
During the 2000 bow hunting season, Joey's best friend, Oscar Barton,
harvested his bull elk with a bow in mid-September. Joey called the bull in
from approx. 300 yards away to give Oscar a 30 yard shot. The next day three
of us packed him off the mountain in a couple of hours (bottom left).
The bottom right photo displays Oscar Barton's nice 2000 mule deer harvested
in a limited quota area. It was only a few days into the season and started
out well with Oscar's and Dian's (shown on Faiglrock page) bucks starting
out the late October hunt.
The 2000 season was no bad year as on the Faiglrock page you can see some
great deer harvested. Though not like the 1999 season, the 2000 season was a
unforgettable year as well.

2002 Season
Not too much to say, but 2002 wasn't a total disappointment as Oscar Barton
and Jason was able to find this massive 6x7 for Oscar. It was towards the
end of October in a limited quota area before Oscar harvested his great
muley.

2003 Season
It was definitely a great elk year in 2003, when we all harvested some great
bulls including this one. Oscar Barton, Joey, and Jason attempted to get
this bow during the archery season, but just couldn't get close enough. On
the second day of rifle season Oscar and Joey found the bull bedded down and
closed within 100 yards for Oscar to take one shot and put the bull down.
The is an awesome 8x6 and scores well over 300". It was a great time going
after this bull and is definitely a hunt in the most memorable page.

2004 Season
One of our greatest memories was this great bull that Oscar Barton harvested
with his bow in early September.
It all started one afternoon out hunting and searching hard for that big
bull. As time started running down and daylight falling, we spotted a
magnificent bull in a valley. It was getting to dark to go after him, so we
thought we will have to wait a few days when Oscar could get out again to
hunt. Jason spent days watching the bull in the same valley and getting some
great video footage of bull rutting. Jason knew he would have to watch this
bull everyday to be sure to have Oscar get his chance.
The morning of Oscar's next opportunity, coming off a grave yard shift, we
headed out to search the bull we now named "Maximus". We had found the bull
right at sunrise and came up with the plan to setup. We knew would have to
get right into him if we wanted a chance. After calling for an hour, we had
one smaller bull come within range, but Maximus seemed to settle down and
bed with his cows.
So we moved in closer and got our setup once again and Joey started calling.
Within 10 minutes the antlers of Maximus appeared over the hump in front of
us. The bull walked 30 yards from Joey, 20 yards from Oscar and Jason and
let out the most powerful bugle. Oscar was ready and Joey gave a few more
cow calls and Maximus stepped within 15 yards of Oscar. The arrow was
released and a clean lung shot was delivered. The bull traveled no more than
80 yards and fell to the ground. Our hearts were all beating at the same
fast speed.
After about 20 minutes we approached the bull and we were in excitement at
how magnificent Maximus was. Oscar's bull was a big 7x6 bull that scored
little over 355" gross. It was probably one of the most memorable elk hunts
we had ever been a part of.

2005 Season
Pictured to the left, is our uncle Dave Faigl's 2005 bull that Jason led him
to during the rifle season. Dave's bull had great mass and scored over 350",
his biggest bull elk harvested during his lifetime of hunting.
Bottom left is Steve Spong's mule deer harvested while hunting with Jason in
the 2005 season. It is the second mule deer that Steve has harvested with
Jason and definitely one of his biggest with a spread of 30" wide.

2006 Season
The 2006 season is definitely one to remember because we helped out cousin
Brad Faigl harvest his first moose, but sadly we lossed our brother in
2008. He will be greatly missed and for every hunting season we will
dedicate the success to him. We love you Brad!
Jason and Oscar Barton were successful in the '06 season when Oscar
harvested this nice 6x6 mule deer. They both were able to get out for an
afternoon hunt and find this young buck grazing in a creek bottom.
The rifle elk hunt was a success as well for Oscar Barton when he harvested
this great bull with a antler deformation on his left side. The great memory
with this bull is Joey's son Brady Faigl was able to be present when
harvesting the bull. Thank you Oscar for giving us another memorable hunt.

In loving memory of Brad Faigl
1970-2008

2007 Season
In the photo to the left is Oscar Barton's '07 mule deer harvested when him,
Jason, and Oscar's daughter hunted hard all day to retrieve this beautiful
buck.
The first day of the elk rifle season Oscar was able to harvest this great
bull after hunting him through the archery season, but not getting an
opportunity for a shot. This hunt was memorable as Joey & Jason's father,
Joe, was able to be along for the ride. Oscar's bull scored 338".
During the '07 archery season, Jason was able to call in this great bull for
Kreston Cross. They both hunted for a few days before this awesome bull
presented himself for a 30 yard shot. Kreston's bull scored 342".

2008 Season
The 2008 season was definitely a success for our friends. Top photo shows
Joey and Oscar with Jacob Abbott's great 26" buck. It was one of his biggest
mule deer at the age of 12. Thank you Jake for some more memories!
For Jason and his friend Rick Breskamp, the 2008 hunting season is one to
remember. Jason helped Rick find his 3 species of game starting with a great
bull moose. Not long after Jason lead Rick to a great bull elk that scores
over 340" followed by a big 190" mule deer. Congratulations Rick on a
successful year!!
The 2008 season finished off with a great buck harvested by Oscar Barton.
Joey spotted the buck during the preseason in velvet and hoped the buck
would stick around for the rifle season. Sure enough the buck was in the
exact same area and with a great stock Oscar was able to harvest his 27"
5x4, one of his bigger bucks yet. Another memorable hunt with your
best friend!

2009 Season
Once again we very successful with our friends. Oscar
Barton harvested his 2009 bull with Jason, with the bull scoring 332" gross
and harvesting his 2009 mule deer with Joey, with the buck scoring 173"
gross plus a dropper.
Mike Braskamp harvested his 2009 mule deer with Jason, the buck scores 194"
gross.
More great memories with our friends in 2009.
Brady harvested his first antelope in 2009, his first big game animal at the
age of 12. Along with his dad, Joey; 2 brothers, Hunter & Brendan; Grandpa
Joe, Grandma Dian; Brady had a great experience and fun hunting for his
great buck.
Jason hunted along with his wife, Amber, when she harvested her 2009
antelope.

2010 Season
The 2010 season started out great with Joey's son Brady
harvesting his first black bear during the spring season. Brady hunted for 3
days and an opportunity for other bears but decided to pass. On the last day
of his hunt he made sure that any legal came into the bait he would pull the
trigger. With one shot and tracking the blood trail for 60 yards into the
forest, Brady had his first bear at the age of 13.
Jason's wife, Amber, harvested a great Wyoming antelope while pregnant with
their first child. She was more than determined to get her antelope before
the welcomed their daughter Kylee. Congratulations Amber on a great buck and
a beautiful baby girl!!
Jason hunted with a friend, , from Texas and helped him harvest a great bull
in a limited quota area. They hunted for 5 days before finally decided to
take this nice bull. bull scored ".
Every year we can always count on a successful elk hunt with great friend
Oscar Barton. It was a struggling and frustrating hunt, but 4 days before
the end of the season, he found this great bull. Although it had a couple of
broken tines, the bull gross scored 341".
